At Vaccaro Bull, our primary focus is on providing our clients with happy, stable, healthy, lifelong companions. We provide all our clients with the best and most transparent customer service.
When dealing with us for a puppy or a future stud service, we are consistently updating information on our Instagram and often do live feed of births and inseminations. We will even live feed from an emergency vet if we do a c section. Transparency is our fundation.
Aside from our transparency and customer service, we provide our clients with our superior puppies by following the 4 PILLARS SELECTION SYSTEM of DOG BREEDING.
The 4 Pillars Selection System of breeding was first introduced to me by a breeder of high-end, world-class racehorses. The 4 Pillar Selection System has become the critical ingredient in our breeding program.
At Vaccaro Bull, we do not leave anything to chance when producing your future companion. The First Pillar of our 4 Pillar Selection System is the Proven Producer Pillar.
Predictability is the crucial ingredient in our program. We study the history of what our potential stud has been producing in detail. A proven producer is a dog with several litters on the ground. The development of the puppies allows us to see how the dogs' genetics pass onto his litter.
By watching the development of the offspring, we are better informed to decide if the dog is suited for our breeding program and if he is worth using as a stud.
At Vaccaro Bull, our primary concern is not what the dog has won. We understand that we are not breeding the trophy. We are breeding the dog.
Unless the dog has a proven track record of producing high-quality, big-boned, thick, and healthy dogs, I will not use him in the Vaccaro Bull Program.
The Second Pillar of our 4 Pillar Selection System zeros in on the process of "Repeat Breeding." These terms are referring to here is that the male and female are proven producers and have also had a history of being paired up to each other.
The advantages of repeat breedings are that by the time the second and third litter is on the ground, we can show what the 2 to 3-year-old dogs look like from the first litter.
The process of "Repeat Breeding" gives us a better ability to predict what bone structure and looks the puppies will have. You pay for predictability, and usually, the repeat breedings allow for better predictability. We must not confuse "better predictability" with "guarantee." This we must be clear about.
The following breeding pillar is the Proven and Consistent Blood Line pillar. The term bloodline has gotten a bad reputation over the years, and for a good reason. It is consistently being misused.
The misuse of the term "Blood Line" occurs when breeders brag about having a bloodline of a champion. However, upon investigating the pedigree, we often find out that the "high caliber" dog is 3 to 4 generations back. Aside from that one dog, nothing special contributes to high-level genetics.
People who use the term "Blood Line" like this are doing nothing but riding the coattails of a well-known dog. Frankly, they must be delusional in the belief that one great dog 3 to 4 generations back in the pedigree will still influence the DNA in their line and make their litter "high caliber."
At Vaccaro Bull, we look for the term "Consistent Blood Line". The term "Consistent Blood Line" is only valid when the high quality common denominator is satisfied.
The common denominator means that the majority of the dogs in the pedigree are high-level competition winners or world-renowned producers. In other words, the common denominator are very high-level dogs throughout the pedigree.
In all animal breeding breeding genetics are vital. The more good genetics, the higher the chances of success.
Our future stud Corrado "Rasputing" de Steel City, is the primary example. Corrado de Steel City Presa was Sired by Koronel de Samcor, the only dog in the history of the Presa Canario to win the Monographica two times and two times in a row. In Corrados' DNA, the common denominator is a total of 10 Spanish Champions in every pairing, going back to 2002.
The common denominator is more than satisfied with such a pedigree.
It is straightforward. High-level champions that are Proven Producers have a higher rate of Producing more High-Level Dogs. The more high-level dogs are found in the pedigree, the higher the common denominator level. We look for pedigrees with as many high-level competitors or proven producers; that's what we deal with at Vaccaro Bull.
Health testing compromised of hip and elbow testing. There are three ways to do this: one is OFA, the second is PennHip, and the third is taking an x-ray of the dog's elbow or/and hip.
When an x-ray is taken but not graded by OFA or PENHIP, the client can take the X-RAY to the vet of his choice and get an opinion.
Health testing or at least X-RAY is important however it is essential to understand that 60% to 70% of hip dysplasia is environmental and that it is vital to take special care of the large breed puppy.
At Vaccaro Bull Presa, our puppies are on the nonslip carpet from the time they are born, and we educate our clients about slippery surfaces and other dangers, such as long walks, rough play, jumping on and off couches, etc.
If you want to know what your litter will look like look take a look at the past. Here we feature some of the dogs going back 5 generations. Champions of Spain, Champions of Hungary and World Champions. Here we have some of the dogs we have produced, and some of the dogs we have used for breeding.
The DNA of the past makes the puppy of today.
